An entertaining encounter saw Southern Railways lose to a much more experienced Wanderers XI. Indeed many of the SR players had not played Cricket for years.

For the Wanderers, almost everybody contributed with some runs, giving them a total of 204 for 6. In the reply, Paul and James opened the bowling and were soon amongst the wickets. Despite a bit of early promise from the SR top order, the safe catching (mostly by Jason Thackeray - 3 good catches) meant that they were under early pressure and some shrewd bowling changes brought about an early demise. Despite some resistance from the SR skipper they only managed 50 all out.
SR then started an unscheduled second innings! which allowed bowling from everybody - and Dave N was able to bury his Spanish nightmare with 3 wickets and two more catches in a bit of fun.

Many thanks to Southern Railways for giving it a go.
